This has proved to be quite a challenge trying to capture the destruction of 2011 on a two dimensional canvas (riots, mass shootings, mass graves in Mexico, wars and more wars, natural disasters, nuclear melt downs, and even killings by Pirates.
I need to raise my expectations for a brighter future so I'm taking a break on this one and we'll see what happens.
I put this painting in a show for two months in October and November 2011 at which time I moved on to more up lifting work. I may never put a brush to it again but everything has a season. I can't explain the way this composition came about because it's to close to home. It was going to be Tucson but I refused to paint it. I pray every day for peace around the world.
